We know you have lots of options for indulging your sweet tooth, and we thank you for choosing Humble Chocolates.
Food safety is a top priority for us. Even though chocolate making is considered low-risk, we strive to exceed the guidelines and expectations required by the Region of Halton Public Health Department and the Town of Milton to start a legal home-based food business. You may ask to see our certification.
Although not required, we:
- have obtained a Safe Food Handler's Certificate;
- have a designated production kitchen separate from our home kitchen that's been approved by a health inspector;
- wear gloves while handling products;
- track every batch;
- and follow best practices learned during chocolatiering certification program.
We use premium couverture chocolate from top industry cocoa roasters who can trace their products to the original growers.
We’re committed to using only biodegradable or recyclable packaging, eliminating single-use plastics and excess wherever possible.
We follow (and exceed) the guidelines and rules set by the Region of Halton Health Department and the Town of Milton to start a legal food business.
